Mr. Jean Damascene Ngendahayo was born in Rwanda and travelled in different countries. He is currently working for Institut d’Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri (INES-Ruhengeri, Institute of Applied Sciences) in Rwanda since February 2019 as a Language Center Coordinator and Assistant Lecturer in the faculty of Education. Prior to his recent appointment at the above mentioned higher institute of Education, he was a Part-time Lecturer at the Christian University of Rwanda at Kigali and Kibogora Polytechnic located in the Western of Rwanda from 2017 to 2019. Over his working period, he worked as an English Language teacher in different secondary schools of Rwanda (especially in Musanze, Nyagatare, Muhanga, Bugesera and Gakenke Districts). He worked for Education Development Center (EDC) in L3 initiative in Bugesera district as ESBM under Rwanda Education Board supervision. He served as Trainer of Trainers (ToT) in MasterCard Foundation FAWE Rwanda Chapter from 2014-2018.
Jean Damascene received his Master’s degree of Arts in English Language and Literature Education (MA ED) from Kampala University, Uganda in March 2016 and also obtained a Master of Theology (MTh) by International Christian University (ICU), USA in January 2019 where he was considerably awarded the doctorate scholarship by ICU founder and is now pursuing his Theology Doctorate (DTh) in the same university due to his great academic performance in masters. He published some papers in international peer-reviewed and academic research journals and participated in some academic discussions and conferences. His areas of interest include education, linguistics, English language, and literature as well as Theology.
He has 3 years of research and teaching experience of more than 10 years in the areas of English language, literature, communication skills in English and French as well as Kiswahili language. He is nowadays helping the university students raise the language command of English by practicing public speaking like interdepartmental and national English language debate competitions and also guides students, staff members, and the surrounding community to purposely prepare for the language exams known as International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in INES-Ruhengeri Language Center. Jean Damascene is an enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable, responsible, and hard-working person. He is also a mature team worker and adaptable to all challenging situations.
