On this Saturday 25th July 2020, His Excellency Dr Ron Adam, Ambassador of Israel in Rwanda, has visited INES-Ruhengeri. After a worm welcome by Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri, Bishop Vincent Harolimana, he then presented to him a brief picture of the Diocese of Ruhengeri in its efforts to educate the youth. He also introduced the plans for INES Ruhengeri. He mostly explained that INES is striving to develop into a center of excellence in Applied Sciences. He explained that this will be done through promotion of internationalization, digitization and partnership with the industry.
The Vice Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri Fr. Dr Fabien Hagenimana made a brief presentation of INES. He gave the historical background, the unique orientation of INES-Ruhengeri as a University of Applied Sciences, the academic figures of students and staff, research clusters and he concluded with challenges and priorities for partnership for consideration which include the following:
- Enhancement of INES Smart Campus ;
- Consolidated laboratories infrastructure and additional equipment
- Innovation and Business Acceleration for girls’ employment development;
- Signing the Memorandum of Cooperation Agreement.
The Ambassador promised to develop relationship with Beersheba University as it is very innovative, geared for internationalization and has a lot to share with INES-Ruhengeri.
Ambassador was happy to see INES-Ruhengeri and its teaching, research and community service facilities where he had a tour in INES-Ruhengeri laboratories.
Ambassador visited and get explanations of what is done in various laboratories, like Material testing laboratory, Hydraulic laboratory, Water quality laboratory, Food processing unit, Food Microbiology laboratory, Clinical Microbiology laboratory, Parasitology laboratory, Molecular biology and Immunoserology laboratory, Phlebotomy and Anatomy laboratory, Chemistry laboratory, Haematology and Immunohematology laboratory, Clinical chemistry laboratory, Tissu culture laboratory, Surveying laboratory, Computer laboratories.
During the tour of INES Laboratories the guest appreciated the efforts made and promised his full support.
