INES student among the best 5 in Rwanda

Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) in collaboration with African Organization for Standardization (ARSO) organized the 7th Continental Essay competition 2019/2020 under the theme “The Role of Standardization in resolving and addressing socio-economic issues for the refugees, returnees, internally displaced persons and creating durable solutions to forced displacement in Africa”. The completion aims to ensure that youth are enlightened and their standard culture is improved.

ARSO requested the National Standards Bodies in Africa to organize the competition at the National level by inviting relevant Colleges/Universities, to write on the above-mentioned theme. The letters were sent out to universities in Rwanda, Public, Privates, and IPRCs requesting them to circulate the Competition Essay Concept Paper and Registration Form and 12 institutions participated. 

IRAHOZA Guillaine the student at INES-Ruhengeri in year 1 of Law was among participants. She is among the five best winners on the national level among all the university students that competed. Many students competed but only 12 best were selected to be given certificates of recognition and the best 5 will be awarded and move forward to another level which is Regional level and continental level.

“I tried it out and luckily I managed to appear among the best 5 whereby I am the fourth winner. After all the universities that competed and all the students. I thank God that He enabled me to do the best I could even though I still have a long way to go I have faith that I might come out number one even on latest level, who knows! I would like to take this time to thank the school, INES-Ruhengeri, and Minister of information at INES Student Union who shared an announcement from Vice-Chancellor so that we as students of INES don’t miss out the great chance to win as well, giving us a chance to pursue our education, to chase our dreams and all the motivation that pushes us beyond the limits to have a competitive spirit.” She said
