The Forum for African Women Educationalists Rwandan chapter (FAWE Rwanda) has good collaboration with INES-Ruhengeri where every year INES receives girls from FAWE to continue their studies at INES-Ruhengeri. These students from FAWE have what they call “Service Day” which is the community engagement activity done every year where they collect money or materials to support poor families.
On this Thursday 20th December 2018a group of girl students supported by FAWE Rwanda have done humanity activities in the community surrounding INES-Ruhengeri.
The students identified two poor families in Musanze Sector, Rwambogo Cell. After cleaning environments around the house of HABIMANA Evariste’s family students offered different materials to help these families.
The family of HABIMANA Evariste and family of Rosine MUJAWAMARIYA were given matelas, beans, sugar, potatoes, oil and soap for Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. They have also got goat for their social economic development in the future.
The two helped families, neighbours and the local authorities appreciated the continuous closer collaboration between INES-Ruhengeri and its surrounding community by saying: “INES IRAGAHORA IGANJE I MUSANZE”.
Dean of Students, Hyacinthe TWISHIME who has represented INES-Ruhengeri in this humanitarian activity said that INES has three main objectives; teaching, research and community engagement that is why our students have this value of helping community to grow.
