The delegation of 14 people from all over the world who are in MIJARC movement visited INES-Ruhengeri on this Sunday 27th August 2017 in order to see the role of INES-Ruhengeri in rural, agriculture development.
MIJARC is part of the specialized Catholic Action tradition, and its membership is made up of Catholic organizations of rural youths and other associations pursuing the same ideals, in the spirit of Gospel fellowship, stimulating them to work together in full respect for their autonomy; it promotes the development and comprehensive education of rural youth with the “review of life” approach using the “see, judge, act” method; it heightens awareness to the need for a fair distribution of resources that respects the environment and the lives of future generations; it works to develop the culture of peace; it speaks out on behalf of Catholic agricultural and rural youth to bring their issues to the attention of public opinion and the international organizations.
When exchanging with the Rector of INES-Ruhengeri, Fr. Dr. Fabien HAGENIMANA explained the team the concept of applied sciences and why INES-Ruhengeri chosen to become institute of applied sciences and the teaching methodology used in this concept.
After, the team visited INES facilities and laboratories, like Food Microbiology laboratory, Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, Parasitology laboratory, Molecular biology and Immunoserology laboratory, Chemistry laboratory, Haematology and Immunohematology laboratory, Clinical chemistry laboratory, Tissu culture laboratory and screen houses.
The team was happy to see the contribution of INES-Ruhengeri to the development of the region.
