“Land administration and Management is a key subject in the development” said Rutagengwa

From 21st to 26th May 2018 INES-Ruhengeri hosted an international workshop around the theme “The use of Geographic Information in land administration and management” where experts from 9 countries (Netherlands, Germany, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, RDC and Rwanda) converged in Rwanda at INES-Ruhengeri.

In his remarks during the opening of the workshop, Fr. Dr Fabien HAGENIMANA, The Rector of INES-Ruhengeri thanked all trainees and the guests. He explained the process INES has gone through and how INES chooses land related academic programs, Land Survey, Land Administration and Management and Civil Engineering. He added that INES has bought its own drone to facilitate teaching and research in these departments. “We expect that this workshop is an added value not only for INES teaching agenda but also for its research agenda in addressing issues related to agriculture, land administration and management in Rwanda in particular and in the region as a whole.“ He concluded

When addressing his speech to the Mr. Alexis RUTAGENGWA, Deputy DG in Rwanda Land Management and Use Authority, congratulated all trainees and the management of INES-Ruhengeri for the event. “I take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to INES-Ruhengeri for its endeavors in quality education especially by choosing to embark on the road of Applied Sciences with specific emphasis on the needs of the country” he said. “Land administration and Management is a key subject in the development of our country” he added.

Judith Angwech from Uganda is one the participants appreciated how NES-Ruhengeri hosted this workshop, high standard level in organization and the effort INES-Ruhengeri staff used in the preparation of this workshop.
