The minister for economy, transport, agriculture and viniculture of Rhineland-Palatinate, Dr. Volker Wissing and a strong delegation visited INES-Ruhengeri on 29 August 2019. The Minister and his team arrived at INES-Ruhengeri and welcomed by INES Chancellor Bishop Vincent Harolimana.
Using the power point presentation, The Vice Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri, Fr. Dr. Fabien HAGENIMANA welcomed and explained INES approach of Applied Sciences and how this methodology helps to train skilled students who can lead to the community development through innovations.
He also explained the areas in agriculture where INES can partner with the ministry of economy, transport, agriculture and viniculture of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The MoU between INES-Ruhengeri and Technical University of Applied Sciences Bingen has signed with objectives to specify; areas of collaboration, fields of collaboration, exchange of staff, exchange of students, joint research projects carried out by researchers from both applied sciences universities and exchange of information and publications.
When addressing his speech to the public, Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri, Bishop Vincent Harolimana thanked everyone for their presence. He especially welcomed Minister Dr. Wissing and his team for the visit at INES-Ruhengeri. “It’s a good opportunity and great pleasure to be with you” He said “INES will learn a lot from this partnership” he added.
The main topic was the cooperation of INES-Ruhengeri and Rhineland-Palatinate in the agriculture sector.
Minister Dr. Wissing took the opportunity to talk to the audience “I am very happy to be here today, INES is a good place” He said “It’s good to hear from students from Germany who are undertaking research through this partnership” He added
He concluded by saying that Students and Staff exchange in agriculture sector for research purpose and Establishing Smart farming sector will be the results of this visit.
