On 20th August 2019, students from St Jerome Janja visited INES-Ruhengeri. The 6th years students in sciences related programs wanted to visit laboratories of INES-Ruhengeri and other facilities in other to open their mind on what is going on in INES, institute of applied sciences, which is one of their chooses as students from sciences.
These students visited and get explanations of what is done in various laboratories, like Material testing laboratory, Hydraulic laboratory, Water quality laboratory, Food processing unit, Food Microbiology laboratory, Clinical Microbiology laboratory, Parasitology laboratory, Molecular biology and Immunoserology laboratory, Phlebotomy and Anatomy laboratory, Chemistry laboratory, Haematology and Immunohematology laboratory, Clinical chemistry laboratory, Tissu culture laboratory, Surveying laboratory, Computer laboratories, Civil Engineering workshops and screen houses.
Students were very happy and excited to see functions of INES laboratories.
After visiting INES infrastructures especially INES laboratories, IMANISHIMWE Denyse students in S6 MPC said that INES-Ruhengeri is good university for students who want practice in their studies.
When addressing to these students, the Vice Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri, Fr. Dr. Fabien HAGENIMANA explained the background and the raison behind the creation of INES-Ruhengeri and its new orientation of being applied sciences based institution. “Secondary is the right time to manipulate and produce” he said. Vice Chancellor concluded by encouraging them to work hard and to have target and vision.
Fr Alphonse TWIZERIMANA, Director of St Jerome Janja secondary school, said that the visit has the purpose to open students before national exams. Father Alphonse said that this will be done every year in partnership with INES-Ruhengeri to help students in their future choice.
