On this Thursday 23rd January 2020 a student called Enock Shema from the department of Land Administration and Management defended his book while he was in Europe. It was really a special presentation where the student was in Germany, one of the panelists, his supervisor Ir. Jossam Potel was in Netherlands other panelists Dr. Richard Manirakiza and Miss IBARINDA Benoite were at INES-Ruhengeri in video conference room.
Mr. Enock Shema went in Europe after completing his studies at INES-Ruhengeri. Presenting the final year dissertation using video conference technology is usually done here at NES, what is special in today’s presentation is that even panelist, supervisor, was not in the room.
Mr. Enock was working on the “Exploring the role of land redistribution in increasing food security in Rwanda a case study of Kayonza district (2008-2018)”.
INES-Ruhengeri has invested a lot in term of information communication technology equipment to be a technology driven campus; this is a long project called “INES smart campus project” where institution will be technology driven in service delivery, teaching, research, environment, etc.
People who attended this presentation were excited to see this kind of flexibility and high level of use of technology in teaching, learning and assessment at INES-Ruhengeri. Mr. Innocent Manzi one of the students who attended the presentation said that this is how technology brings the solutions.
