On this Monday 2017 INES-Ruhengeri organized a special event “Welcome Back Home” for students of Civil Engineering, Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, Biotechnology and Computer Science whose programs re-opened on 6th July 2017. After receiving the letter from Minister of Education to re-open all academic programs, INES started organizing the event to welcome home these students.
During the presentation to the audience the Rector of INES-Ruhengeri, Fr. Dr Fabien HAGENIMANA explained the whole journey from the first audit/assessment up re-opening day. He explained what INES has done in term of academic staff, laboratories, library, ICT tools, etc. INES has now well-equipped laboratories: Material testing laboratory, Hydraulic laboratory, Water quality laboratory, Food processing unit, Food Microbiology laboratory, Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, Parasitology laboratory, Molecular biology and Immunoserology laboratory, Phlebotomy and Anatomy laboratory, Chemistry laboratory, Haematology and Immunohematology laboratory, Clinical chemistry laboratory, Tissu culture laboratory, Surveying laboratory, Computer laboratory.
“INES in now good than the other time, you can have a tour in to see how better we are today” He added. Fr. Fabien thanked the founders of INES, Board of Directors and staff in general for hard work done to re-open these programs. He also thanked government institutions for good collaboration during the re-opening process.
Mr. Ndayishimiye Pacifique representative of other students Thanked INES management for efforts made to finish requirements of the MINEDUC. “We are very happy to be back home today after a long time in forced holidays” He said
Col. MUTANGANA representative of the army in the event thanked INES management for the quick response to the requirement of MINEDUC. He emphasized on the discipline of INES students during the past time where they were not in class. “Because you have vision you didn’t cause any problem in this region” he said. Based on this discipline of INES students he explained the concept of VICTORY. He ended by encouraging students to work hard for the future of our country.
In his address His Lordship Vincent HAROLIMANA INES Chancellor and Legal Representative thanked students, parents and all partners of INES among them the government of Rwanda for their support to meet the requirements of MINEDUC.
He equally emphasized on the mission and vision of INES and it’s orientation of being Institute of Applied Sciences, its teaching methodologies. “We want you to become good students” He said.
We now have staff and equipment in laboratories and library to facilitate our students in their learning to achieve the development we want in our country.
“We thank the government for this opportunity to upgrade” He added. He concluded by wishing good day to the audience. ”INES URAGANA HEZA” He ended.
