Students of Level III in Civil Engineering at INES-Ruhengeri are getting international knowledge and skills from University of Parma by Prof. Roberto Valentino who is teaching them soil analysis. Prof Valentino is lecturer in the department of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Parma.
In the region there is a problem of higher qualified staff in some domains especially in engineering domain. INES as an institute of applied sciences faces this problem of finding local professors and Senior Lecturers in Civil Engineering, Land Survey, Land Administration and Management, Biotechnologies, Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, etc. Most of these departments are unique only at INES-Ruhengeri you can find them in the region which is also challenge to get experts in these domains.
The students of INES are benefiting from the academic staff exchange between INES-Ruhengeri and University of Parma, Italy where high qualified and experienced academic staff like Prof. Roberto Valentino come to deliver lecture at INES-Ruhengeri.
Prof. Valentino is very happy to be with INES students and the later are very happy to have the higher academic staff like him.
Prof Valentino has Degree in Civil Engineering at University of Parma (December 1999). Thesis in Geotechnical Engineering entitled: ‘Analysis of shallow landslides in detrital deposits.
Ph.D in Geotechnical Engineering at Polytechnic of Turin (April 2004), thesis entitled: ‘Micromechanical modelling of slope movements. With the Research Group in Geotechnical Engineering of the University of Parma cooperated to the National Research Project funded by Italian Ministry MIUR (COFIN 2001) entitled: ‘Living together with landslides: effects on structures and urban settlements. Strategies for risk reduction.
2006-2013 research assistant at the University of Parma, Department of Civil, Environmental, Territory Engineering and Architecture. 2013-2016: Assistant Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Parma. December 2016 up to now Associate Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Parma.
INES has other experienced academic staff from outside the country like Prof Neel Rajendra Goud from India who is teaching in Biotechnology department and Dr Tiba Alphonce Yustin from Tanzania, Dr Tiba is teaching in the department of Land Administration and Management.
All these efforts are made to help its students in their academic process.
