Dr. Vincent Nzabarinda is a dedicated academic and researcher with over six years of professional experience, currently contributing to academic capacity-building at INES-Ruhengeri. He plays a pivotal role in strengthening education and research in land surveying and related fields.

He holds a PhD from the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, awarded in June 2022, following extensive research in applied remote sensing, GIS, and cartography. Before his doctoral studies, he earned a Master’s degree in Traffic and Transportation Engineering with a specialization in Railway Operation and Management from Beijing Jiaotong University, China (2016–2018). He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying from INES-Ruhengeri. His academic journey reflects a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and innovation.

Dr. Nzabarinda's research focuses on climate change, vegetation dynamics, soil erosion processes, and sustainable land management. He utilizes advanced analytical tools such as Matlab, Envi, R, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and remote sensing technologies to study environmental phenomena at various scales. With expertise in ecosystem management, climate variability, and biodiversity assessments, he has made significant contributions to both academia and policy-oriented projects.

Beyond his academic role at INES-Ruhengeri, Dr. Nzabarinda previously served as a Research Assistant Fellow at the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, where his work influenced policy discussions on environmental conservation. His research has addressed global challenges such as deforestation, carbon dynamics, and land degradation, particularly in developing nations.

Committed to advancing sustainable development and academic excellence, Dr. Nzabarinda continues to contribute to environmental conservation through interdisciplinary research, mentorship, and policy engagement.
