INES-Ruhengeri and Direct Aid Rwanda Office signed a Memorandum of Agreement for education promotion

On Friday, 8th April 2022, a Memorandum of Agreement for education promotion was signed between INES-Ruhengeri and Direct Aid Rwanda Office. The signing ceremony took place at INES-Ruhengeri and it was done by Fr. Dr. Hagenimana Fabien, Vice-Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri and Magdi Khattab, Country Director of Direct Aid Rwanda.

The purpose of this Memorandum of Agreement is to establish a partnership between Direct Aid and INES-Ruhengeri where they agree to develop education sector in scholarships for poor and orphanage students.

In this Memorandum of Agreement, INES-Ruhengeri will be responsible for analyzing  the files of the scholars to make sure they meet all admission requirements; training scholars enrolled in respective academic programs in accordance with the Law regulating Higher Education in Rwanda, Higher Education Council regulations and INES General Academic Regulations as well as providing  internship and, whenever possible, non-modular internships to increase scholars’ readiness to career opportunities among others.

For the Direct Aid, responsibilities will be focusing on providing at the beginning of every academic year an official list of sponsored scholars;  ensuring that sponsored scholars have registered within INES-Ruhengeri in accordance with provisions and rules related to admission in Higher Education; and paying for each sponsored scholar tuition fees according to the Department of study at INES-Ruhengeri, etc.

INES-Ruhengeri is a Private Higher Learning Institution accredited by Ministerial Order Nº 005/2010/MINEDUC of 16th June 2010. It is also oriented into the Institute of Applied Sciences.

Direct Aid is a charity non-governmental organization concerned with the development of education, health and poverty reduction and relief programs in Africa, founded in Kuwait, in 1981. It is operating in thirty countries including Rwanda where it started working since 1991.
