INES -Ruhengeri joined the rest of the world in celebrating International Women's Day

On 8th March 2023, INES –Ruhengeri staff joined the rest of the world in celebrating International Women's Day. The celebration of this Day was an occasion to discuss the professional and community life of INES-Ruhengeri. It was also an opportunity for the December 2022 thanksgiving ceremony which had been postponed.

“Happy Women’s Day! You deserve it”, Vice-Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri, Father Dr. Jean Bosco Baribeshya addressing to the women staff. “INES can not function without you. Let us work as a team and we will achieve more”, he added.

During the event, everyone was requested  to take into consideration his/her responsibility because responsibility is very important. “If we take our responsibilities seriously, everything will go well and we will have many success stories”, Vice-Chancellor.

In addition to the presentation of the historical background for INES-Ruhengeri background as well as International Women’s Day, the “INES Dream Project” for community outreach was also presented and explained to the staff members who pledged their financial contribution as possible.

The staff was also reminded of the core values of INES-Ruhengeri and the customer care habit.  They were requested to support in ensuring the student’s discipline not only at the Campus but also in its surrounding area. International students should be aware of immigration regulations. The lecturers have to remind them through the various departments.

As INES-Ruhengeri is developing new programs and revising some others, the staff was requested to keep an eye on our laboratories and the examination office so that INES goes on having quality education.  

At the national level, Women’s Day was celebrated under the theme: “DigitAll: Innovation and technology for gender equality”.
