INES-Ruhengeri proudly participated in the Nordic Education and
Business Delegation to Rwanda, a two-day high-level event held in Kigali
from April 3rd to 4th, 2025. The delegation brought together Nordic and Rwandan
business leaders, government officials, academic institutions, and other
key stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration in education,
business, and investment.
The first day of the event, held at Serena Hotel Kigali,
featured strategic engagements, networking sessions, and the signing of Memoranda
of Understanding (MOUs) between institutions and Nordic partners. The forum
created a platform for fostering impactful partnerships and sharing insights on
cross-sector collaboration.
The second day, hosted at the University of Rwanda – Camp
Kigali (KECV), centered on the Education Track, themed "A
Gateway to Global Educational Collaborations and B2B Discussions."
Representing INES-Ruhengeri on the expert panel was Dr. Mireille
Biraro, Director of International Relations, who shared insights on the
growing Rwanda–Finland educational partnerships and highlighted
INES-Ruhengeri’s role in building impactful international collaborations.
Dr. Biraro emphasized the unique value of Rwanda–Finland cooperation in
higher education, pointing to INES-Ruhengeri’s successful engagements with
Finnish institutions as practical examples of how international partnerships
can enhance research, student mobility, and applied learning. She underscored
the importance of embracing innovative, forward-looking models that prioritize
relevance and adaptability in education. Her remarks also called for greater
institutional openness to cross-border collaboration and the scaling of proven
models for broader impact.
Through its participation, INES-Ruhengeri reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its international partnerships and contributing to Rwanda's knowledge-based economy. The event served as a valuable platform for connecting with global partners and exploring new paths for educational innovation and development.
