INES-Ruhengeri Welcomes Pakistani Ambassador H.E Naeem Khan, Opening Doors to Student Opportunities

On April 26, 2024, Dr. Samuel Sindayigaya, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and Research Affairs at INES-Ruhengeri, had the honor of welcoming H.E. Mr. Naeem Khan, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Rwanda, to the INES-Ruhengeri campus. This significant visit highlighted the robust and growing partnership between Rwanda and Pakistan, showcasing various opportunities for academic collaboration and cultural exchange between the two nations.

Upon his arrival, Ambassador Khan toured the state-of-the-art facilities at INES-Ruhengeri, expressing particular admiration for the innovative application of laboratories in teaching, learning, and consultancy services. These laboratories, integral to the Applied Sciences programs, including Biotechnology and Parasitology, serve as a testament to INES-Ruhengeri's commitment to practical and research-oriented education.

During his public lecture, Ambassador Khan engaged with the student body, sharing insights into the numerous opportunities available through the Rwanda-Pakistan partnership. He highlighted prospects such as academic exchanges, joint research initiatives, and cultural programs. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of developing essential skills such as critical thinking, soft skills, and communication skills, noting that these competencies are crucial for students' personal and professional growth.

Ambassador Khan's lecture was both inspiring and informative, providing students with a broader perspective on the benefits of international collaboration. He encouraged them to seize these opportunities to enhance their academic and career trajectories.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Sindayigaya thanked Ambassador Khan for his visit and for the potential opportunities it heralded. He noted specific prospects such as internships at the Pakistan Embassy in Rwanda and master's scholarships for Rwandan students to study in Pakistan. These initiatives are expected to further strengthen the ties between the two countries and provide valuable experiences for the students of INES-Ruhengeri.
