INES-Ruhengeri's First Book Café Event Unveils the Magic Behind "Isaro rya gatatu"

The evening of May 17th, 2024, was a celebration of literature, talent, and community at the INES-Ruhengeri campus as it hosted its first-ever book café event in collaboration with AGATI Library. The theme of the event revolved around the creation of the book "Isaro rya gatatu" (Troisième Perle) written by Kaï Hirwa and beautifully illustrated by IRADUKUNDA Bruno, adding a layer of artistic depth to the discussions.

A highlight of the event was the esteemed presence of IRAKOZE Marie Lys, a distinguished author and lecturer in the Biotechnologies department, and Olivier UKUNZWENIMANA, a promising young writer and INES student who recently triumphed in a story writing competition organized by AGATI Library. Their insights and experiences enriched the panel discussions, offering valuable lessons and inspiration to the audience comprising students and book enthusiasts.

Mr. Flavien NIYIGENA, Director of the Library at INES-Ruhengeri, underscored the significant opportunities that arise from collaborations with seasoned writers. He emphasized how such partnerships not only nurture the talents of aspiring writers but also elevate the literary landscape, fostering a culture of creativity and expression.

The event also featured IRADUKUNDA Bruno, whose journey as an illustrator captivated the audience. Bruno shared his creative process and techniques during an interactive session focused on the illustrations of "Isaro rya gatatu," providing invaluable insights to budding artists and writers in attendance.
