Seven Students Join INES-Ruhengeri’s Master’s in Software Engineering

On 26th April 2025, INES-Ruhengeri officially launched the second cohort of its Master of Science in Software Engineering program, welcoming seven highly motivated students ready to embark on an exciting academic journey. This new group demonstrates a strong commitment to mastering software engineering and contributing meaningfully to the ever-evolving digital world.

The welcoming session was presided over by Dr. Theodore Habimana, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Information Technology, and Dr. Gedeon Habakubaho, Director of Postgraduate Studies. During the session, students received an overview of INES-Ruhengeri’s mission as an Institute of Applied Sciences, a detailed explanation of the General Academic Regulations, tuition structures, and the academic roadmap toward graduation. A dynamic Q&A session allowed students to engage directly with the officials and gain deeper clarity about their upcoming academic journey.

Following the orientation, the inaugural lecture was delivered by Dr. Josbert Nteziriza Nkerabahizi, who introduced the first module, Advanced Java Programming. His engaging teaching approach set an inspiring tone for the rigorous, industry-aligned learning experience that awaits the students.

Expressing their gratitude, the new cohort commended INES-Ruhengeri for introducing such a specialized and forward-looking program in Rwanda’s higher education landscape. They reaffirmed their commitment to academic excellence and to becoming impactful contributors to the global software engineering industry.
