ERASMUS+ KA171 2022 PROJECT
ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-2025
ANNOUNCEMENT FOR STUDENT MOBILITY FOR STUDIES
PROJECT NO: 2022-1-TR01-KA171-HED-000069220
DATE OF ANNOUNCEMENT: 04/11/2024

This announcement pertains to the Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility (ICM) program, a collaboration between Eskişehir Technical University and INES-RUHENGERI. The KA171 program facilitates student and staff mobility between European Union (EU) and non-EU countries. These mobility projects are conducted annually on a departmental or faculty basis, promoting international academic exchange under the Erasmus+ framework.

1. DEFINITIONS

  • Student Mobility for Studies: This program allows students enrolled in a formal higher education institution to spend one semester studying at a partner university. The courses successfully completed at the host institution are recognized by the home institution.
  • Duration: The mobility period is one semester (5 months), excluding travel days.
  • Mobility Agreement: Before departure, students must prepare a Mobility Agreement that specifies the courses to be undertaken. This agreement must be approved by the student, the home institution, and the host institution.

2. APPLICATION AND QUOTA

One (1) student from the Civil Engineering Department will be funded under this project. Only students currently enrolled in the Civil Engineering Department are eligible to apply.

Application Procedure:
Applicants are required to submit the following documents to the International Relations Unit of INES-RUHENGERI within the specified deadline:

  • Completed Student Application Form
  • Valid Language Proficiency Document
  • Updated Academic Transcript
  • Supporting documents to qualify for additional evaluation criteria, if applicable

Note: Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

3. EVALUATION AND SELECTION

The KA171 program is department-specific. Therefore, only undergraduate, master’s, or PhD students from the designated department may apply for the specified quota. Eligible applicants will be assessed and ranked based on their Total Success Score, calculated as follows:

  • 50% Academic Grade Point Average (GPA)
  • 50% Foreign Language Proficiency Score

Students selected within the quota will receive financial grants, including individual support and travel allowances.

Evaluation Criteria:

1.    Academic Performance (GPA) – 50% of the total score

2.    Language Proficiency – 50% of the total score

3.    Additional Considerations:

o    Students with disabilities (documented): +10 points

o    Previous participation in Erasmus+ mobility at the same academic level: -10 points per prior mobility instance

o    Mobility in the country of citizenship: -10 points

o    Failure to participate in a previously allocated mobility without formal withdrawal: -10 points

o    Simultaneous applications for multiple types of mobility: -10 points for the non-preferred option

4.    Penalties for Non-Compliance:

o    Failure to attend mandatory mobility-related training/meetings without a valid excuse: -10 points for future applications.

In cases where two or more students achieve identical scores, priority will be determined as follows:

1.    Higher GPA

2.    Younger age

4. GRANT SUPPORT

Selected students will receive financial support as follows:

  • Monthly Stipend: €800 per month
  • Travel Grant: €820 (calculated based on the Distance Calculator)

The Distance Calculator, accessible via this link, determines the round-trip distance between the student’s residence and the host university. This distance is used to calculate the travel grant, which is a one-time payment. Stopovers during travel do not affect the distance calculation.
